Because it's not just a tee.
At Afro Boy Productions, weβre not out here mass-printing cookie-cutter clothes by the truckload. Most of our pieces are created using an on-demand modelβmeaning your order gets made just for you. No warehouses full of waste, no piles of unsold stuff headed to the landfill. Just wearable art, crafted with intention.
Sometimes we drop limited-run pieces through our local print shop. These are small-batch, made with love, and once theyβre goneβ¦ theyβre gone. Itβs our way of keeping things fresh, exclusive, and sustainably fly.
Every Afro Boy design starts with a sketch, an idea, a vibeβpulled from the soul of culture, the rhythm of the streets, and a deep love for self-expression. Youβre not buying a basic teeβyouβre investing in a story, a moment, and a mission.
So yeah, it might cost more than your burrito bowl. But unlike your lunch, this drip wonβt disappear in 10 minutes. This is fashion with roots, with reason, and with swag.
Welcome to the movement. βπΎππ₯

Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing is a digital printing method used for garment printing. It involves using a specialized DTG printer that directly applies the ink onto the fabric using an inkjet printhead. Unlike traditional printing methods, such as screen printing, DTG printing does not require a separate screen for each color. This process results in high-quality prints with a high level of detail and vibrant colors. DTG printers are also capable of printing on a variety of fabrics, including t-shirts and other apparel, using a heat press to set the ink into the fabric.
β
Direct-to-film (DTF) printing is a relatively new technique thatβs growing in popularity. DTF prints have excellent color accuracy and detail, are durable, and look fantastic.
Other DTF printing benefits include low production costs, a wide range of color options, and the ability to print on dark and light garments. Itβs also suitable for various material types like polyester, cotton, nylon, and fleece.
β
Screen printing is a way to print designs onto things like T-shirts, posters, or bags. It works kind of like using a stencil. A screen with tiny holes is placed over the surface, and a design is made by blocking off certain parts of the screen. Ink is then spread over the top, and it only goes through the open parts of the screen, creating the image or design below. Itβs a hands-on process thatβs great for bold, colorful prints that last a long time. We use this print method for those special drops.
β
Embroidery refers to the process of creating designs on fabrics or other materials using threads and a needle. It's a form of textile art that has been used for centuries to decorate clothing, accessories, and other items.

If your fresh Afro Boy gear arrives with a bit of a tangy scentβdonβt worry. That vinegary smell is totally normal! Itβs just a byproduct of the print process and will fade after a few days (and a quick spin in the wash).
You might also notice some discoloration or a faint off-white residue on your apparel. These arenβt stainsβtheyβre from the pre-treatment process used in our direct-to-garment printing. Like the smell, theyβll disappear after the first wash.
